About accounting8

accounting8.com is an independent directory of accounting firms in the United States. It covers California, Florida, Michigan and Delaware and lists CPA firms, tax preparers, bookkeepers, financial planners and registered agents. Each firm has its address, phone, hours and Google rating on one page, and firms are grouped by state, city and service.

At a glance

What we do

• Compile firm listings from public business records and match them against the IRS register of paid tax preparers. How we build the directory explains the sources, the rule for which firms get a profile page, and how lists are ordered.
• Publish guides on choosing an accountant and on buying or selling an accounting practice. Every figure in a guide links to its source. See the editorial policy.
• Run a free board of accounting practices for sale, where owners post blind listings and buyers request details by email.

What we do not do

• Sell placement. No firm can pay for a listing, a higher position, or a badge.
• Write or edit reviews. Stars and review counts are Google’s and are credited to Google wherever they appear. We do not publish review text.
• Give advice. accounting8 is not a CPA firm. Nothing on the site is tax, legal or accounting advice; for that, hire a licensed professional.
• Verify licenses. A listing does not confirm that a firm or person is licensed. Check with the state board before you hire: how to verify a CPA license.

Who runs the site

accounting8 is independently owned and is not affiliated with the AICPA, NASBA, the IRS, any state board of accountancy, Google, or the firms it lists. Guides and rankings are published under a team byline; the editorial team page describes who does what.

Corrections, removals and new firms

Any firm can be added, corrected or removed on request, at no cost. See add or update a listing and request removal. Errors in a guide go to hello@accounting8.com; the corrections policy explains what happens next.
